The Ball Residence

The design process of the Ball Residence was quite rewarding. The porte cochere inverted truss design came as a very practical solution to a common problem with breezeways. The normal port cochere has two large posts holding up the front truss, but the posts inhibit maneuverability with a vehicle, making it harder to turn in and out of the covered area.

The inverted truss was a unique way to make a powerful design statement too! Many architects have commented on the beautiful solution, which is elegant while retaining load bearing strength.
